Governance

Helping hands for the blind is a registered C I O Charity. The Governance of the charity is Registered in England and Wales, Registered Charity Number: 1153159.
During the year, the Board of Trustees monitors the performance of the charity against the objectives set out below:

  1. TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PEOPLE IN BASINGSTOKE AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS THROUGH THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT, EDUCATION AND PRACTICAL ADVICE.
  2. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN ALL AREAS RELATING TO BLINDNESS AND VISUAL IMPAIRMENT.
  3. THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION AMONG BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF BEING BLIND OR VISUALLY IMPAIRED BY:
    • PROVIDING EDUCATION AND INFORMATION.
    • RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ISSUES AFFECTING BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE BOTH GENERALLY AND IN RELATION TO THEIR SOCIAL EXCLUSION.
